[Bug 43610] Gnome terminal uses offensive words like "colours"

Description:
In gnome terminal, under edit --> current profile, even though my locale
is en_US.utf8, I see the English English spelling of colour, rather than
the American English: color.  This is odd, because while the check box
below also reads "Use colours from system theme", I see at the bottom
"Note: Terminal applications have these colors available to them".
