Regarding point 1). I cannot hear the "sound outputted through ALSA with the Audigy2 card" as the system still seems to route it to the ICH6. You can probably tell, also, that I have two cards; an ICH6 (0) and an Audigy2 (1). -- Can't use other than default sound card https://launchpad.net/bugs/31699
