Public bug reported:

Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: Medium
         Status: Confirmed

Description:
The system in use is a Sony Vaio PCG-K415B notebook with Ubuntu 5.04
loaded. When the notebook boots the icon for mains/battery power shows
no charge information and the icon indicates that the system is on
battery power even though a mains supply is connected.

If the battery pack is then removed and reinserted the display then
(correctly) shows the icon for a mains supply and displays the charge
state of the battery pack.

If the mains power connection is now removed the icon to the left of the
battery indicator still indicates that the laptop is on mains power. The
charge indicator does however start to count down showing that the
battery is discharging.

The bug occurs 100% of the time and is repeatable. I am sorry if this
explanation is not so clear but English is not my first language and I
assume that you do not want postings in Hungarian :-)
