Public bug reported:

Affects: gdm (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Upgrading from breezy 5.10. with
gksudo "update-manager -d"

When restart, I can login, but desktop didn't load.
Trying with failsafe show me this message:
/etc/gdm/PreSession/Default: Registering your session with wtmp and utmp
/etc/gdm/PreSession/Default: running: /usr/bin/sessreg -a -w /var/log/wtmp -u /var/run/utmp -x "/var/lib/gdm/:0.Xservers" -h "" -l ":0" "lecaros"
This process is currently running setuid or setgid
...
I already saw similar bugs which sessreg utility doesn't exist, but i have last version of this tool.
