Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37230
Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
I am running Dapper Drake FL5 ('Clock' 2.14.0 ) and I installed all
updates in the morning. My clock was totally off for some reason so I
thought "why not syncrhonise with NTP?", and I clicked "synchronise now"
under "adjust date & time". Nothing happened (yes, I was online). If I
click "synchronise periodically" I get an error messages that "NTP
support is not installed" .
1. Shouldn't I be getting this error message in the "synchronise now"
button too instead of guessing what might be wrong?
2. Synaptic shows I have 'ntpdate' installed, which according to its
description, is capable of synchronising my machine. Why do I also need
'ntp' ?
