this has nothing to do with the FTP site, it is a problem with nautilus. I can connect to *any* ftp site, (whether I have a username or I am an anonymous user, whether I have access to / or to a user folder) with all FTP clients from my machine, *except* nautilus which doesn't work with any site I've tried, and I've tried many. It simply does nothing.
