[Bug 35390] "Caps Lock" message displayed

sort of......

since my password is not all in caps the password check fails.

BUT

when i repeated your steps i did notice that the message below the
password box "The Caps Lock Key is On" did stay there until you press a
key as you described.

BUT

turning off the caps lock key DOES effect the state of the keyboard
itself and it DOES in fact go out of caps lock mode, dispite what the
message on the screen says.  verified this via the caps lock light on my
keyboard.
