Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/35834

Affects: gnome-volume-manager (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
I suffer from the "phantom trash" bug, reported here:
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/trashapplet/+bug/28154

and here:
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/libtrash/+bug/34247

I discovered yesterday that gnome trash applet and desktop icon reflect
the status of the .Trash folder of my usb stick /dev/sda that gets
mounted as /media/usbdisk

This is persistant, ie even when the stick is ejected eg right-
click>Eject, with the result that trash appears empty even though
~/.Trash contains discarded items.
