While fixing this in hal, I noticed and fixed a bug in the corresponding
pmount-hal part:

 pmount (0.9.9-1ubuntu1) dapper; urgency=low
 .
   * Add debian/patches/02-pmount-hal-fix-mountoptions.patch:
     - Fix processing of hal's mount options.
     - Patch taken from bzr head.
     - Malone #33621
