Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/33523

Affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
gnome-screensaver is a highly-integrated screensaver application that
displays pretty pictures on the users' screen after a period of
inactivity.

gnome-screensaver can get itself into a mode where it activates after
$period (eg. 10minutes), regardless of whether the user has been using
the machine or not. This means that the screensaver can randomly start
in the middle of typing.

This unexpected functionality is almost unique among screensavers
management systems that I've come across and may not be appreciated, as
such this is probably a bug, rather than a feature.
