fixed upstream with that comment:

"DHCP is now the default in cvs HEAD, I've also committed the string improvement
suggestion.

Autodetecting whether the interface is in a DHCP network is complicated to do
and just too time consuming for the user to just change a default value. If the
user doesn't even know what's an IP address he'll choose "automatic
configuration", and it will very probably work for him, as most (if not all)
isp-shipped routers are preset with DHCP"
