Latest edgy update has fixed this problem for evolution-- it now runs fine. (The update included evolution and xorg packages though, so still not clear which was at fault). Glade-2 still gives the X error, though. -- X Windows error when running 2.7.4 https://launchpad.net/bugs/52657
