If there is a choice there should be enough information shown to the
user so that he can choose the right option.

The fact that there is already an UI that does not provide sufficient
information is not an excuse for providing insufficient, even less
information.

If the problem is solved by providing only one option the information is
not needed anymore, at least not in the UI.
