Did anyone check latest comment on GNOME bugzilla?

It says,
"We use gnome-system-tools to control the modem. This uses vendor specific
backends to implement things. This bug should be filed with the vendor, who
should put a fix upstream into gnome-system-tools."

What vendor specific backend is he talking about?
