I run the version 5.10 in a virtual maschine from vmware. Now I have 
chanchelled my windows and Ubuntu runs almost very well on the computer 
itself, but I have now two problems with which you could maybe help me:

1. The computer blocks sometimes for a little moment and all the 
programmes stand still.

2. The gnome desktop does not start properly anymore, I can't open the 
the installation and the packages manager anymore. When I start Ubuntu 
it stops and a dialogue shows that there is missing a file at etc/hosts, 
but it does not say which one.
