Aside from a long discussion on the ML, my immediate response to this is
that you're "pushing" something by setting it under the counter and
hoping the customers ask for it.  Most of them simply don't care.

Not that that's a problem; I am directly opposed on technical merit to
the proliferation of script languages as tools for designing
applications larger than a playlist sorter.
