"actually we are pretty convinced of what we are doing here.

given that:
 - displayng the dir name in the title bar is really useful for a text editor
and was requested many times when it wasn't there. (think of ChangeLog files,
same name but in different folders, or two versions of the same text file in
different folders or one local and one remote)
 - displaying /home/paolo/blah blah is *way* worse not only because it's verbose
and wastes space but also because the file system hierarchy is way more
confusing than ~)


It seems to me that the fact that '~' is confusing is purely a speculation here,
not a fact. My guess is that people which do not know about it would just ignore
it without any confusion. After all for those people ~ is were all their files
live so the path relative to ~ would be perfectly clear."
