I have the same problem here and I'm really happy to know that there is a patch.
I'm now waiting on the update :)

( I have a MX700 Logitech mouse with evdev driver on an Ubunty Dapper Drake and
that's actually the only bug I saw (I have installed my Ubuntu Dapper yesterday).
