Summary: MMC block devices don't automount
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: hal
AssignedTo: martin.pitt at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: mjg59 at codon.org.uk
QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
I have an SD reader that is supported by the kernel MMC layer, and so doesn't
appear as USB mass storage. Cards inserted into this device do not get flagged
as removable by the kernel (quoting from the source:
* As discussed on lkml, GENHD_FL_REMOVABLE should:
*
* - be set for removable media with permanent block devices
* - be unset for removable block devices with permanent media
mmc falls into the second of these catagories, and so doesn't have it set). As a
result, inserting a card doesn't result in it being automounted.
