[Bug 32912] underscores replaced with spaces in chat windows

Description:
xchat-gnome 0.9-0ubuntu5 works great!  However, in the chat/discussion
windows underscores (_) are replaced with spaces( ).  This is especially
noticeable in nicknames.  Is this intentional?
