[Bug 77318] gnome login stands still

hi,

after a ubdate from ubuntu edgy to the latest (edgy) version, i could
not login into gnome. i also created a new user which could also not
login.

After entering username and password in gdm, it tries to start gnome.
But i can only see a blank screen with a gray box in the upper left
corner. Nothing more.

I have the same issue after installing ubuntu from the live cd.

I can start fluxbox. But i can not start a gnome application inside of
fluxbox. The applications will always hang....

how can i help you with more information?
