[Bug 77401] Re: rhythmbox manual shouldn't be in Rosetta

This is also the case for file-roller, gnome-package-manager, synaptic
and so on, so it's clearly not a rhythmbox specific bug. I'll close the
rhythmbox task and leave this on Rosetta.

** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu)
       Status: Unconfirmed => Rejected

** Summary changed:

- rhythmbox manual shouldn't be in Rosetta
+ Gnome manuals shouldn't be in Rosetta

** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: rhythmbox
-
The pot for the Rhythmbox manual is in Rosetta [1]. This is bad because
translators might mistakenly think that translating this will result in
the translation being imported into Ubuntu. In reality, there is no
support (that I know of) for manuals to be included into Ubuntu, because
the language-packs don't handle xml translations.

The only way for these translations to be included is for the
translation work to be done upstream. The Italian team is busily working
on the translation and will forward the results upstream but other teams
might not know this is necessary.

I'm not sure of the reason for this bug, because I can't find the pot
template in the source package. (For that reason, I'll open this bug on
Rosetta and Rhythmbox, please tell me what is causing the bug).

I think the ideal solution is to remove this template, and encourage
upstream to use Rosetta for translation of manuals (since this will
result in them getting more contribution in an area which I understand
  is lacking in translation work).
