Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

I am currently using the release candidate of Ubuntu 6.10 ( Edgy )

I currently have my DNS settings automatically configured via DHCP, but
I wish to manually add one extra search domain.

The list automatically has one search domain, and I decided to add the
second using the "network-admin" tool from gnome-system-tools.

1. System->Administration->Networking
2. Select DNS tab
3. Click "add" adjacent to search domains
4. Fill in field
5. Click close
5. Reboot
6. Open System->Administration->Networking again
7. Go to DNS tab
8. Additional search domain gone

I use this extra search domain so I can ssh into a machine on our
network, via it's short name. There are about 3-5 machines on this
domain.

ssh user at ourserver

instead of

ssh user at ourserver.tla.corporate-abbrev.net
