You likely need to activate the plugins (if they're not installed;
install gnumeric plugins; packages should say gnumeric and plugins)

>From there, you need to go to Tools->Plug-ins....
Then click on the "Activate All" button.  All of the checkboxes in the scroll-down list should now be checked.

Please report back whether this solves your problem or not.
