I can confirm we are also experinecing this on both 6.06 LTS and 6.10,
have also tried with rdesktop 1.5 compiled from source. This bug affects
many of our users 5-6 times during the working day.

Have been able to "unfreeze" any of their machines remotely by running
killall -9 gnome-screensaver which led me to find this bug on launchpad.
