There are two possibilities :
 - You can simply change the status for this bug and mark it completed
 - Ask someone to move it as a Wish for gparted

As I said, Ubuntu can be installed on a LVM without any problem but with the "alternate" cdrom instead of the "desktop" cdrom.
The alternate uses the old installer and doesn't do the LiveCD part.
