One last comment maybe: it is possible to upgrade hal-device-manager nevertheless, since python-glade2 provides python2.4-glade2, but you have to be careful in the order in which you upgrade stuff. -- hal-device-manager depends on python2.4-glade2 https://launchpad.net/bugs/57002
