[Bug 57419] gnome-mixer-applet shows wrong volume slider controls for my ice1712 based soundcard

Public bug reported:

I own a Terratec EWX2496 soundcard which uses the ice1712 ALSA driver. There used to be DAC and DAC2 volume sliders (stereo output) as well as two sliders for ADC and ADC2 (stereo input).
However, since I think the Dapper release, following slider appear:
ADC, ADC 3, 2x DAC, 2x DAC3

The DAC/DAC3 sliders  are duplicated, i.e. moving one DAC fader moves
the other one.

BTW, I'm currently using edgy, where the problem is still there.
