It seems to be a problem with HAL. Other applications (sound juicer) which detect CD/DVD drives through HAL don't work either. I think the error occured after the /dev/hd* -> /dev/sc* transition. -- [Edgy] CD burning broken in nautilus https://launchpad.net/bugs/56726
