Public bug reported:
I'm trying to use AD for address book purposes. I'm guessing the same
issue affects all LDAP address books.
Repo:
1. Setup an AD address book
2. Make sure the AD address book isn't the default
3. Compose a New Mail Message
4. Press "To:", "Select Contact from Address Book" dialog pops up
5. In the AddressBox combobox select your AD address book
6. A password dialog will pop up, with the caret in the password field and the password dialog has the focus
7. Type in your password
Expected result: password will appear(sanatised) in the password dialog
Actual result: password appears in the "Search:" box of the "Select Contact from Address Book" dialog
Notes:
1. Making the AD address book not the default in the "Select Contact from Address Book" can be a tad tricky, but if it isn't it provides a workaround.
2. In step 7, the text actually goes to where ever the focus is relative to the "Select Contact from Address Book" dialog.
3. It isn't actually possible to affect the password dialog at all, except for moving it. You must close the "Select Contact from Address Book" first. Then you can type in your password etc.
4. If at any point you type in the password, you will have to restart evolution to repo this.
Xubuntu/Dapper.
I won't be using Evolution after today, certainly not in an AD
enviroment.
** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu)
Importance: Untriaged
Status: Unconfirmed
