[Bug 55406] Re: ubuntu 6.06, Correct password fails causes running of program to loop back to password screen

Hi and thanks for reporting this. As you may understand, there is hardly
enough information for us to fix this. Does the screen flicker when you
enter the first character of the password? Try doing the following:

1. Wait for the system to boot. When you reach the login screen, hit
ctr+alt+f1. A terminal will appear. Log in from there.

2. Follow the instructions on
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash to rebuild gdm with debug
symbols.

3. After installing the package you built, do "/etc/init.d/gdm stop"

4. Follow the steps described here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace

5. Reproduce your problem

If all goes well, attach the output of gdb and /var/log/gdm/0.log .
