I tried updating the bug through email, not sure if it went through. So I'll do it here too.

I didn't have  /proc/acpi/battery/BAT*, so i've attached /proc/acpi/battery/C1B*/*

I also didn't have lshal, from memory hal was uninstalled during an upgrade. I've reinstalled it. retested with hal installed, and it still happened.
