Public bug reported:

Affects: gthumb (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Gthumb's UI is confusing and unhelpful, especially given its similarity
to Nautilus.

I can't help but feel that, for the vast majority of users, a simple
Nautilus window in thumbnail mode would be infinitely more helpful and
easier to use that Gthumb, and so, I propose that--if it is possible--
just such a Nautilus window be opened after the "Import Photos" dialogue
(which is wonderful, incidentally :)

My reasoning goes like this: any other time a user wishes to manipulate
photos (downloaded from E-mail or the web, etc.) the user sees those
files in Nautilus, and deals with them from there (double-click, right-
click+open with, drag or ctrl+c/ctrl+v to another folder, and so on).
Thus, a user gets used to resizing and editing photos in Gimp or their
program of choice (probably after navigating to the file in Nautilus),
and to manipulating the files within their folder structure from
Nautilus. Suddenly presenting the user with a program that looks a bit
like a cluttered, disorganized version of the program that they normally
use for this task is just asking for confusion and frustration, and
Gthumb offers NO features over plain ol' Nautilus that are likely to be
used by any large portion of the user base, while removing other
features and familiarity that are far more valuable to most.

I am sorry if I have posted this to the wrong place, as this is my first
time using this particular bug reporting system. Also, I intend for
this to be posted at a "wishlist" priority, though I see no option for
that. Hopefully I'll be able to choose that after I hit the "submit bug
report" button.
