Public bug reported:

Affects: evolution (upstream)
       Severity: Unknown
       Priority: Unknown
         Status: Unknown
Affects: evolution (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Could Ubuntu at least get this right?
At present only the American MM/DD/YYYY format is available while
many would like the European DD/MM/YYYY style. Furthermore when you type
in a date this should link to your chosen format rather than defaulting at
American.
