i cannot seem to replicate your issue, might be something with the font or theme? i've searched upstreams bug listing, but nothing :(

Also, will gaim 2.0 be ready for dapper's release? and if so, i doubt it will be allowed an exception from the feature freeze...

also, i'm bringing this down to minor, because it's only a slight visual flaw.
