The options are:
--cosmicstrings
--coldpricklies
--spacefur
--jiggy
--undertow

Note that if no option is given, it will alternate every minute or so between all these modes.
But shouldn't this issue be resolved by looking at how the options are managed in xscreensaver to import all options ine gnome-screensaver for the other ones? 
Solarwinds isn't the only screensaver that has more than one display mode.
