Hmm, I suspect it all comes from the same problem, which is probably a gnome-canvas bug. I suggest we should first concentrate on this bug (making some text to be moved 1px away while hovering over it, thus making some of it look like italic), and then see if other problems remain ?

I really don't know how to solve this, though...
