Why not change it? Why would you have it do nothing, when it can serve a very
useful purpose? Scrollbars are meant to work like this, but not media-players.

Many users are used to clicking-to-seek in their media players. I've watched
approx 10 'windows-people' use Ubuntu and when I show them Totem most of them
tried to seek and immediately commented something like: "why doesn't it seek???
useless thing".
