I don't have the issue just after the machine as booted.

My desktop resolution is 1024x768 @ 85Hz while the default I believe is
1280x1024 @ 60 Hz.

I changed my desktop resolution temporarily to 1280x1024 @ 60 Hz and the problem
seems to go away! How did you know?
