Summary: Ubuntu gdm theme looks odd when asking for krb password
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: gdm
        AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: bmaurer at novell.com
         QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

Try adding the following to /etc/pam.d/common-auth:

auth optional pam_krb5.so try_first_pass missing_keytab_ok

and set the unix password different from the user's kerberos password. GDM will
correctly ask for the user's kerberos password, however, the prompt will come on
two lines:

Please enter the password for:
bmaurer at ANDREW.CMU.EDU

and the second line will be clipped by the input box. It should work so that the
text moves up as needed.
