Subject: Problem with libgal and gnomecanvas
merge 320528 321746
thanks
The bug reported is yet again the same libgal bug. This has been reported
many times before, and this is the explanation that has been given already:
This bug has been fixed in sid, but cannot be yet migrated to
etch due to several problems in the GNOME 2.10 transition.
The possible workarounds are:
* downgrade libgnomecanvas2-0 to sarge's version
* upgrade libgal2.4-* to sid's version (only recommended if you really
want to have some of the libs in sid).
So, as far as you probably don't need to upgrade libgnomecanvas2-0, you are
not really missing much out of the whole system if you choose the first
option, and this bug won't reach you. When libgal2.4 finally migrates into
etch, you might upgrade the whole set of dependencies.
