Summary: xdmcp problems gdm kdm windows managers.
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: gdm
        AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: awmsc at comcast.net
         QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

issue #1. I cannot find an easy/obvious method from within the gui to change
window managers from kdm/gdm.

issue #2. Using a few installations of ubuntu with the kubuntu packages
installed... I CAN use xdmcp to start a remote session to another ubuntu
machiine as long as that machine is using the gdm window manager. If it is using
the Kdm window manager I cannot connect to it.

issue #3. The Ubuntu/Kubuntu client that I use to connect to the remote server
running the gdm manager (in #2 above) must be using the kdm window manager or it
will not get the session started.

issue #4. When a graphical greeter is chosen for use with the gdm window
manager, the remote login options are not available. (this has been mentioned
elsewhere I believe, but I find the problem with most of the graphical greeters
from the gdm selection.
