Ubuntu | nautilus

Summary: Opening a jpg file across smb:// share doesn't work
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: amd64
        OS/Version: other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: nautilus
        AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: vermyndax at galaxycow.com
         QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

I tried using nautilus to do a "connect to server" and entered windows share
information. I was able to connect to the share correctly. After connecting, I
tried to open a jpg file from the share. Double-clicking the jpg picture
results in a brief mouse "busy" icon, then nothing.

I tried right-clicking on the picture and choosing "open with the Gimp" but the
Gimp said that /home/<myaccount>/smb://<share>/<file>.jpg doesn't exist.
