In python, a script to change this to "automatic" would be:

import gconf
conf=gconf.client_get_default()
conf.set_string("/system/gstreamer/0.8/default/videosink","autovideosink")

Automatic is a better option than xvimagesink, isn't it? This would avoid all
those problems and won't be several people complaining that ubuntu does not work
with their video drivers to play video.....
