This bug is highly reproducible on my system. I originally discovered it when
shelling via gnome-terminal to a remote server and running irssi in screen.
Within a few minutes irssi shows up as a blank black or blue screen. I tried
running it without screen, same issue. Finally tried it locally and had the same
issue.

Steps to reproduce:

1.) Open gnome-terminal
2.) Run irssi
3.) Do an action (click a link, switch tabs, chat in a channel)
4.) Terminal "blanks" out and you must ctrl+l to fix it.

Other Details:

Running Breezy developement branch with gnome-terminal 2.11.3. irssi 0.8.10-rc5
(20041018 1440) on Breezy and irssi 0.8.9 (20031210 2316) on my remote system.
