I dont think it was a bug, because it's the same comportement on hoary and
breezy ( breezy version : 2.11.92, hoary is the stable version)
i have the same variable value as you : "x-nautilus-desktop:///" .For example i
use  a script nautilus to resize image, but as $NAUTILUS_SCRIPT_CURRENT_URI is
/home/user et not /home/user/desktop my script dont work on my desktop because
image path are not good.
if i have a directory on my desktop,my script works.
