Yes nothing has changed despite I updated 5 minutes ago (didn't notice any
Nautilus related pacakages anyway).
Synaptic says that Nautilus is version 2.11.92-0ubuntu2

What do you mean by "panel update" exactly ? The gnome panel ? Seems to work
fine. The left pane of the browser ? Seems to work fine too.
This problem of not clering the history properly happens all the time, any time
I try to clear it, it will misbehave, leaving one or more entries.
Not that I really care or even use this functionality, but it seems to be wrong
to me so I am sure people who do use it, are annoyed, someone has to file the
bug ;-)
