Summary: Applications menu "lags" to refresh cache after
                    installing new application
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: gnome-panel
        AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: jeff.schroeder2 at us.army.mil
         QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

When you install an application that has a desktop file to put a
menu entry in the applications menu, it takes ~2 seconds for the
menu to refresh it's icon cache. As a result, none of the icons
are viewable and it looks like there is a problem with gnome-panel
to a complete newbie.
