Ubuntu | gnome-panel
Summary: wnck-applet uses 95% of CPU when certain apps are
launched
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: gnome-panel
AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: nosnad at mweb.co.za
QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
Hi,
I've tried this on 32 and 64 bit Breezy installations. I've installed
Mathematica successfully on Hoary without this problem. When I install it on
Breezy, and launch Mathematica, wnck-applet shoots to 95% of the CPU usage (or
whatever the maximum is available). When I kill wnck-applet,
window-list,show-desktop and desktop-switcher obviously all come up with a
unexpected exit and reload box. The window-list doesn't respond when
wnck-applet is at full CPU usage, so I expect it is a bug there, but honestly
have no clue.
As I said - it worked fine on Hoary, so I don't know what has changed in the
panel from Gnome 2.10 to 2.12.
Thanks,
Danson
