Summary: Screen refresh/ghosting problems Ubuntu Desktop
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: gnome-desktop
        AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: colmcd at optusnet.com.au
         QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

The problem that I am having is with the Gnome Desktop package in 5.10. It was
running fine in 5.04. I can use ICEWM with no problems.

The problem in particular is that my screen drops to a small resolution say 320
* 200 and that I only see a part of the screen. The screen is blurry and it is
like you are running a 3d accelerated game that has just malfuntioned on you. I
noticed that when I switched back to ICEWm (I was able to see the top left
corner of the screen and guessed the logout) that there was a little fuzzyness
along the sides of the screen (which was also the case under gnome). This has
quickly disapeered in a minute of use.

Here is a summary of my hardware
